Booze, fags, ballet and love; just 4 of the things that internationally acclaimed comedian Stephanie Laing has quit. Stephanie has been a quitter all her life, but she’s not yet ready to quit her polyamorous relationship.
Both filthy and lovable, Laing’s darkly hilarious comedy explores what it means to be happy and how it feels to fail. Delving into the corners of her oddball mind, Laing’s raw comedy examines her self-destructive drinking, self harm and attempts to quit quitting. Laing’s brilliant comedic timing, song writing and unique outlook on the world is a hilarious and touching exercise in self-belief.
Nuanced, beautifully written comedy from a rising star on the UK comedy scene. This show is sure to appeal to anyone who has ever quit, anyone who hasn’t quit and everyone who has ever tried again.

Stephanie Laing is a UK comedian who has performed all over the world, and whose writing credits include BBC Radio 4. As well as appearing on Sky One, Stephanie was a finalist in the prestigious Leicester Mercury Comedian of the year 2015. After a successful Australian tour with last year’s show Mad About The Boy, Laing is taking this show to Australia, Canada and beyond.
Audience feedback for previews of Quitter:
“If you see nothing else make sure you see Stephanie Laing. I did. The best show I saw during the Edinburgh Fringe 2018. Intimate, filthy, endearing, odd, hilarious, adorable and undoubtedly a talented comedy writer and performer. I laughed, I cried (with laughter) and I wanted to sing along with her. A must see.”
“Loved this show! Stephanie is undeniably funny, endearing and original. GO SEE HER SHOW!”

The festival has grown steadily over the years since the first event in 2013 ‘Manchester’s homegrown Women In Comedy Festival (set up by Hazel O’Keefe) has found its feet in a very short space of time – only three years in attracting the likes of actress Maxine Peake as a patron, joining Jo Enright, Isy Suttie and Jo Caulfield.’ M.E.N
